SMACK IN THE MIDDLE : No “blame culture” in Singapore

No "blame culture" in Singapore

By Felix Cheong

On Monday (Apr 4), Health Minister Gan Kim Yong refused to disclose the names of staff from the Ministry of Health and the Singapore General Hospital responsible for last year’s Hepatitis C outbreak. The outbreak was linked to the death of eight people. He said in Parliament that naming them would encourage a “blame culture“.

What happens if we take the minister’s statement to its logical conclusion?
